+++ I was lucky enough to meet Robert Redford in 2013. His push and unwavering support for independent filmmaking was exceptional. At a time when studios mainly bankroll franchises, not only has his contribution to the indie arena been indispensable, but key to championing up-and-coming filmmakers. And without even talking about his magnetic screen presence, handsome looks and accomplished acting - let alone his own successful filmmaking career as a director - the Sundance Institute and the Sundance Film Festival will always be his most important legacy. He opened the door to the future of cinema. Goodbye to a real legend, goodbye to the Sundance Kid. R.I.P.
