Thank you to all those you came and supported live theatre and improv in Folkestone last night & in 2025 🤩🥰🤩🥰 FIT has gone from strength to strength, and we're so excited to find our new show home in 2026 and continue the FIT Foundation, Returners & Weekender courses.📆 Thank you thank you to the students, the loved ones in the audiences, the random walk ins who only slightly distracted us when they walked into the glass window at the back. Next, it's Maddie! Get a cuppa and settle in for a cosy Christmas story: Maddie says: " I started thinking about presents I’d had, and the rest is history. Literally... Christmas, 1995. Picture the scene. It’s 1995. A new game called Chicken Limbo is taking the world by storm. Everywhere you look are adverts of happy children, smiling and laughing as they enthusiastically limbo underneath a chicken on a pole, carefully so as not to disturb his slumber and awake the beast. I longed to be part of the 🐓chicken limbo crew, picturing exciting parties full of my little friends, making themselves sick with joy at the endless games of chicken limbo. Chicken Limbo went on my Christmas list. I was convinced at the time that I could communicate with 🎅 Santa by whispering up the chimney 🏠, so I did this with gusto, of course, and when Christmas Day rolled around and I unwrapped that crazy bird and his pole, I could not WAIT to get it set up, and get me some limbo time. This is where things get dark. Real dark. Turns out that Mr Chicken Limbo himself, is clucking terrifying. 😱😱😱😱 The idea of the game is that - should you limbo too high and knock the chicken - that he squawks and sings his silly song. My God. His screams. They were deafening. I can still hear them echoing in my brain to this day. His motion sensitivity was high, so he wasn’t just going off when he was swinging wildly like a madman. He was going off ALL the time. Even when you weren’t. In. The. Room. Needless to say, I immediately requested that my parents pack him up and remove him from the area. But there was a catch. My parents had forgotten to take the batteries out before they stowed him away in the attic. For weeks I was haunted by the muffled sounds of Chicken Limbo squawking and singing from the attic, which became increasingly more traumatising as the batteries failed, his songs and screams becoming disturbingly slow and laboured - it was obviously possessed. Well, this has all been very triggering. If you’re having a limbo pole at your Christmas party, please don’t invite me". Intense.
