HOW DID WE MEET? What a great question.... Susan and Lucy met around 2012, performing in Showstopper! the (Olivier Award-winning) Improvised Musical. Whilst on tour, they both ran out of socks (wild times) and visited Primark to peruse the ladies' accessories. After an awkward stare at the mystifying size 4-7 ladies' socks, Sue headed to the kids' section and Lucy to the mens'... And thus, ONE SIZE FITS ALL (it doesn’t) was born! It turns out women come in all shapes. Who knew?! ABOUT THE TEACHERS KERRY RYAN won the Hachette GYOS Prize, the Spilling Ink Short Story Prize, the New Writing South Award and has been shortlisted for the Myriad First Editions Prize, the Writers & Artists Prize, and the HG Wells Prize. Her fiction and poetry have appeared in The Manchester Review, The Kenyon Review, 3am Magazine, and more. Kerry combines a Masters with distinction and a PhD in Creative Writing with extensive experience leading workshops, collaborating with fellow artists and creating inclusive creative communities. LUCY TRODD is a writer-performer and the Founder of FIT. She’s also a founder member of Showstopper! The Improvised Musical (serving 18 years so far). She’s toured and taught around the world at many International Improv Festivals. She’s written, composed and performed three radio shows for BBC R4 and has won the BCG Sitcom Competition. Wowee! We are totally stoked that we've made it into the @femalepilotclub OFFICIAL SELECTION with our short film 'What is Improvisation?' Meet The Fitties continues... 🥁🥁🥁 It's FIT Founder...Lucy @ltrodd As we approach FIT’s 2nd birthday, we asked our Fitties what being part of FIT means to them. Lucy said: “Since founding FIT 2 years ago, there are a lot more random things in my shed! Neon sweatbands, colourful plastic balls, 🎬movie clapper boards, and several octopus related items...🐙 FIT is the gift that keeps on giving; more laughs, more joy, more karaoke, more pub hangouts, more parties, more connection. However long FIT lives, I'm forever grateful for the people it has drawn together and the memories made. Every week, we laugh, we play, we grow, we learn #skillz4life. I'm so grateful for this unexpected gift. 🎁💝 Big shout out to Pam for my call to adventure in 2024. I gave her a tissue at a writing workshop, we got chatting, and she said, "Why aren't you teaching improv in Folkestone?". Great question, Pam! Ready to meet more of our incredible workshops teachers for this years festival. We are SO pumped to welcome for the first time...⁠ ⁠ 🎵 Lucy Trodd has been performing, teaching and directing improv for over 20 years. As a founder member of Olivier Award winning Showstopper! The Improvised Musical, she specialises in improvised singing and musicals. Lucy is also the founder of FIT- Folkestone Improv Theatre and a regular guest with The Comedy Store Players and Blues Hammer shows. ⁠ ⁠ Lucy has performed and taught at many international festivals including: Impro Amsterdam, Momenta Leipzig, Karlsruhe Impro Festival, Rome’s Welcome and Colosseum Improv Festivals and 17 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals.
