Our segment should air around 9:40 am if you’re in town to watch, otherwise you can watch on YouTube shortly after! poster art @cecili_art / @ceciliathomas722 performance photos @roomtoreach.media — Part of why we put this concert together is to honor the lives and legacies of my grandmother Nanny and Hailey’s grandmother Nettie. They never got the chance to meet and passed away a couple years apart, but their birthdays were one day apart (Nanny April 29th and Nettie April 30th (happy birthday Nettie 🌻)) Three years ago today, Hailey and I traveled to Albuquerque for a close friend’s wedding. To honor our grandmothers’ birthdays, we bought their favorite flowers (Nanny white roses and Nettie sunflowers) and trekked to the top of the Albuquerque mountains to lay them to rest, and to give them each the chance to watch the sunset with their new best friend. Since then, we’ve made it a tradition to leave sunflowers and white roses wherever we go, and Hailey even wrote an absolutely beautiful song called “flowers on a mountainside” about our grandmothers to document the occasion. I had the pleasure to sing co-lead vocals on it, and them writing about our families is one of the sweetest things anyone’s ever done for me. Hear it live on the news and in concert on May 7th, see you there 🌻🤍🌹

Thank you for all the love you showed us this past weekend. It’s truly surreal to be able to perform for 120+ people and so many close friends and family (new and old) across two states in just two days. I’m truly lucky to be able to play music and tour with my close friends and my love, who are all the most talented musicians I know. I discovered this footage the other day I’d never seen before, filmed by @itsvelonne at our EP release show at @cbgbstl back in September, and it made me happy, so I wanted to share it with y’all :) Memaria was first written all the way back in 2018, and Mitchell for some reason today decided to release a Bandcamp-exclusive album, “Memaria™,” which features 29 different versions and snippets of Memaria from over the years and that’s it The album features our studio version of Memaria and a bunch of our live performances of Memaria from the past year, which you can check out at the link in our bio and stories! I wrote Memaria all the way back in 2018 about my first girlfriend and breakup in my friend’s dorm room at Missouri State University, wanting to personify all my feelings of depression and finally tell them once and for all to f?@# off, so I could find the life and partner of my dreams. All the while, I was literally across the hall from my now partner of 5 years, who I wouldn’t meet and start dating until 2021, over 3.5 years later. Memaria was also the first original song I ever released. I’ve been performing and making music for 8 years now, and people still have Memaria as their number 1 Spotify wrapped song, or come up to me after seeing me live for the first time to tell me how good Memaria is. Memaria is a song that keeps getting remade, remixed, remastered, and rediscovered after all these years. There’s an undeniable quality and staying power to Memaria. Memaria is the catchiest song ever made, after all. There have been so many versions of Memaria that I could hypothetically make a whole album of just Memaria’s. @briangeraldbulger got me nostalgic yesterday about when he and @guinevere.goodwin stayed with @hailey.pants and I during their time in Chicago opening for @thehuddog , so I thought I’d share one of my favorite memories, on stage or otherwise This is from my first ever tour in 2023 (sorry for the fit lol), co-headlining with @blk.plays.bass at @bliproasters in Kansas City, Missouri, with @briangeraldbulger and @ephmcf opening, all three of whom are some of my musical heroes Brian’s song “Lightning Bolt” is one of @hailey.pants and I’s couple songs, and we were still long distance at the time, so for our anniversary, I asked if Brian would sing ⚡️ as a duet to dedicate to Hailey, and he so graciously accepted. Couple that with living out my dreams of going on tour for the first time, playing in one of the biggest venues I’ve ever played, and performing to a crowd of said musical heroes and my closest friends from childhood and college, it was truly a memory I’ll never forget 💫 video by @beccaroo.501 — #reels #acoustic #singersongwriter #duet #kansascity
