I’m going to miss these people and this show (we will never see each other again — I have blocked them all on social media) I feel like often as actors we’re so focused on chasing the next gig that we don’t always get to savor the moment we’re in and the art we’re making at that particular time and place. I will be forever grateful that I loved every second of making Streetcar (I DO NOT CONDONE THE ACTIONS OF STANLEY KOWALSKI). Tennessee Williams’ writing is a crackling, rich, and layered gift and I am genuinely honored to have been able to work on this with such an exquisite, irreplaceable group of people. Thanks to my fake sister-in-law @hailey.pants and my fake wife (we have a completely healthy and non-toxic relationship) STELLAAAA @elyna.mellen for being two of the coolest, most clever, most skilled, and most fearless people I’ve ever met, and for stealing every scene because you’re just STARS Thanks to @gonna_go_543 for being my bestie who sometimes strangles me Thanks to @deedeelogan287 for actually punching me in the face (see above — I deserved it) Thanks to this whole incredible cast, especially @kimmydartist for giving me a Kit Kat ENORMOUS thanks to everyone who came!! And thanks to Wayne for trusting me with this role. For such a harrowing story, we had a shitload of fun. I know this experience is not repeatable but that’s part of what makes it so precious. Love you guys ā¤ļø

ā€œThe things I thought and believed became the things I saw and felt.ā€ - Cuban saying These 10 days I spent in Cuba with the International Peoples Assembly have been the most transformative of my entire life. I believe if everyone could travel to Cuba, they would be fundamentally changed. Not just because of the warmth, honesty, and generosity of the people there, but because of the Humanness of Cuba. A country with no homelessness, no unemployment, no mass shootings. A country with free education, free healthcare. A country who, despite being sanctioned, sends more doctors around the world than anyone else. Imagine what our society could look like if we followed even half their example and put people first. I asked a young Cuban student what he wanted to do with his life and his answer was: ā€œto learnā€. Imagine that, not having your goals tied to making rent, or paying off your student loans, but instead wanting to better yourself. Despite these advances, the government that speaks in our name continues to strangle the Cuban people. Trump levied 240+ additional sanctions against the country, and Biden hasn’t done anything to reverse them. Cubans can’t buy food, medicine, gas. They can’t get replacement pipes to give their people clean water. Cuban professors can’t drive to teach their students in person because they don’t have gas. Cuban children are starving and dying from preventable diseases. And why is our government doing all this? Because they’re worried that if you talk to Cubans, you might learn something. I know I did. It’s past time for our government to take its boot off of Cuba and end the blockade. ā€œTrenches of ideas are worth more than trenches of stone.ā€ - JosĆ© MartĆ #CubaSiBloqueoNo #EndtheBlockade šŸ‡ØšŸ‡ŗ

2 years later and @athens341 learned how not to spill her hot chocolate everywhere. (Edit: I don’t know how to get that 3rd picture out of there so just pretend the cat isn’t there, I’m serious)

Tbh I really couldn’t enjoy a movie without Athena asking a question 10 seconds before they explain it. Idk how I did it before. Happy birthday to this lovely, kindhearted whirlwind. I’ll get your cane for you, you fossil. Plus swipe to see what had @athens341 saying ā€œWait you have to take a picture of me with thisā€

Weird to be doing a job where I won’t be running around in sparkly tights anymore. Medieval Times didn’t let me keep a horse... but I did keep some incredible friends. Gonna miss seeing their dumb amazing faces every day šŸ“šŸ°

Cons of coming back to Bloomington for a weekend: too many stores with locally-sourced organic food options within walking distance. Pros: everything else ā¤ļø I missed my people HARD. (Ft. 3 friends who can’t take a good picture in the fire tower to save their lives)

My dad, Jay Kohlmeier, Pierre the Cook, is a wellspring of kindness and humility. He’s an exemplar to me of how to be a man, and how masculinity can come from wisdom and compassion rather than aggression. One day I hope to be half as good as him (and maybe as tall). I love you dad ā¤ļø
