What an epic community event ✨
Huge love to @wanakawastebusters , you are absolute legends for bringing together such a creative, inspiring crew of humans and showing how slow fashion is truly the way forward.
We are so proud of Morgan and her new brand Shear to Wear, showcasing her beautifully knitted garments after she spun, dyed, and knitted them herself.
Zac and Fleur modelled as part of the moodboard catwalk, such a fun and empowering process where participants create a style moodboard, and the Wastebusters team curates pieces from the store to bring it to life on the runway in front of a sold-out audience at Lake Wānaka Centre.
The Re-Fashion Show was fun, creative, inclusive, and progressive; a true example of what a community-led event can be!
A special thanks to Abi Hurford-Abel! You’re an absolute legend, and for working alongside Mint in creating these opportunities!
Thank you team, we love you Wasties 💛

You are warmly invited to join Sensory Groove, a welcoming 1-hour creative session designed for people with intellectual disabilities and those who enjoy a sensory-friendly environment.
📅 Date: 31 March
🕓 Time: 4:00–5:00 PM
📍 Location: Paetara Aspiring Central
Sensory Groove is a relaxed and supportive space where participants can explore movement, dance, art, and sensory play at their own pace. Through music, colourful props, textures, and creative expression, everyone is encouraged to connect with their body, imagination, and each other.
There is no right or wrong way to participate. You might feel like dancing, moving gently, drawing, exploring sensory objects, or simply enjoying the atmosphere and connecting socially with others. We would love to see support people take up their own space and also join alongside the person they are supporting, enjoying this free creative outlet together. If you normally drop off your children or the people you support, please feel welcome to step in and join in too. It would be wonderful to make this space open to a broad community, where everyone can dance, explore, and connect creatively.
Sensory Groove supports:
• Creative self-expression through movement and art
• Sensory exploration with props, textures, and music
• Social connection and shared joy
• Confidence, playfulness, and wellbeing
