The name ‘b.effect’ is inspired by the Butterfly Effect - the idea that small changes can create meaningful impact. This philosophy underpins their approach to brewing and the way they contribute to their community.
Each pour reflects a considered balance of simplicity, quality, and purpose, with a focus on creating beers that bring people together. This is an opportunity to slow down, connect, and meet the people behind the beers. Complimentary for members. Guests are welcome with a $20 donation to the MC Community Fund.

Some of you might have noticed work being done on our roof as you drive down Anderson Road. We're finally getting solar installed!
Aotea Solar is installing 75 pannels which will give us 33KW of electricity. This will provide 20% of our power needs. Brewing is a very energy intensive activity, so anywhere we can source, or use energy in a more sustainable way is good for us, the community, and the planet.
When we commissioned our brewery, we went with fully electric, so the plan was alway to be able to generate or recapture energy. We're always looking for ways to drive efficiency, and reduce our overall impact.
We're also going to be installing a CO2 recapturing system over the next few months which will capture the CO2 from our ferments so we'll be able to use this for carbonating our beer & kombucha.
