When aspiring journalist Jihad wins the chance to make his own documentary, he sets out to give voice to his community and challenge the usual stereotypes that fill the airwaves. But in a media landscape that profits off fear, how far can one voice really go?

Second Trimester is now in its final week in London @batterseaartscentre before heading on tour. Standing ovations every single show, people crying and wanting to bring their mum/guardian/elders. This is solely testament to the beauty and bravery of Krishna and Geetha. In making this part scripted play / part live performance art, I’ve had the honour of spending 6 weeks witnessing the relationship that everyone has fallen in love with onstage. Something that simply cannot be manufactured or rehearsed.
It is absolutely no overstatement to say that directing this show has been one of the greatest privileges of my career to date. I feel immensely lucky that @krishnaistha and @geetha_shankar1 trusted me with this deeply personal work, and that we’ve had such a FUN and truly collaborative process.
