I’m in print 😭😭😭
The most special commission I’ve had to date. I cried lots and lots writing this one & I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t crying reading it again now.
To write about love and loss and heritage all in one go is such a privilege. And to get my grandparents in print too - I mean!!!!

we lost my auntie Samira on Friday
the day after, Muzzi and I completed a race in Madrid
It felt really weird being here and eating tapas when she was just…gone.
we were never that close - she was unwell for most of her & my life, a victim of the country’s mental health crisis.
so, my grief is strange. I feel the most sad for my dad, losing his sister who he spent so many years caring for and the shock that comes with that.
I didn’t spent much time with her at all, and the time we did spend together was often difficult and sad, but losing her has made me think a lot about how lucky I am to live the life I do.
she would have loved my life.
so I’m going to live it to the fullest - run all the races, travel to all the places & squeeze my friends and family, whilst I’m lucky enough to be able to.
