Elmet! My Yorkshire B*stards! What a ride. Could not be more grateful to this beautiful group of talented people, we worked so hard. Missing everyone massively. Sept - Oct life outside the rehearsal room. 💜 The 24th October was exactly one year since I was rushed into emergency open surgery for a bowel obstruction and I can safely say it was one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever been through. This year has been hard. Really, really flippin hard. The medical trauma of it took many months to ease and I only have felt like I’m coming back to the open, energised and fun loving version of myself in the last 3 months. Which I’ll be honest, is a relief, because it started to feel like those days of heaviness were endless. Being with community again, dancing again, making theatre again has started my journey back to myself and I can see daylight. I’m still vastly different physically and mentally to the person I was before it (really don’t underestimate the toll major emergency surgery can take lads) but I’m happy to be where I am right now, scarred n all. The people who showed up for me this year have my whole heart and I am so incredibly grateful for them pulling me out of the dark. Community is quite literally everything. Go hug your friends, be irreverently silly, feel the blood in your veins and dance with your faves for me, cos otherwise, what on earth is the point of it all, eh? xoxo

🤠 Well hello. 🤠 After a really tough health year, I managed to crawl back to line dancing this summer. I’m the LEAST fit I’ve ever been, I still haven’t managed to return to any training and I’m on a long wait list for further surgery to repair my new hernia, but I’m thrilled, delighted and beyond grateful to be moving on the floor again. 💃🏼🪩 Honestly, this has probably been one of the worst years of my life, both physically and mentally (girl the Menty H has been BAD) but I’m finally starting to feel joyful and hopeful again (which is no small privilege when the world is in the state it is currently in) and I’ve genuinely had a beautiful month outside of world stress! 💜 Here are some of my fave dancing times from this summer in LA and London. (Dances and nights tagged below!) Whenever I feel lost, dancing has always been the thing that brings me back to myself. 🤝 It’s been so hard not having it.
