In case you forgot, we do more than just figure drawing sessions here at Artworks. If you’re looking for a calm practice with wonderful faces to study and render, join us for our weekly portrait sessions every Thursday 10:00am-1:00pm. We have coffee and pastries to keep you fueled, just bring your own materials.

Duo Session Alert! For the first time ever we will have the honor of drawing the iconic sister duo, Helen & Alice.
Sisters are often times beings that can be so similar, yet so different. They figuratively hold mirrors up to each other to reflect their best and worst aspects, even unintentionally. The bonds of sisterhood are truly magical and we certainly consider it a rare privilege to have siblings pose together, so please join us on Saturday December 27th 2pm-5pm for our last duo figure drawing session of the year.
Reminder that the studio will be closed this Thursday December 25th, 2025 and next Thursday January 1st, 2026 for both morning and evening sessions! So take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to figure draw with us all day on Saturday for our morning and afternoon meetings.

Georges Méliès (b. December 8th, 1861) was a French filmmaker, actor, magician and toymaker. A real pioneer with artistic vision having made and released 520 silent films between 1896 and 1912, Méliès is often regarded as the first to bring theatrical narratives to the new world of cinema. Unfortunately, only 200 or so of these films remain in existence today due to the French army’s confiscation of his prints, Méliès own destruction of his original negatives and the general deterioration of a majority of films made in the Silent Era.
I could say way more about the impact and influence Georges Méliès left in our realm, but I’ll save that for tonight’s session.

Thought we wouldn’t do anything for Miami Art Week? So did we and we are pleasantly surprised to be so wrong LOL!
We’ll actually be figure drawing this Friday 12/5 at 6pm on the 3rd Floor of the @bludot showroom in Miami’s Design District. We’ll have plenty of art supplies to lend out for those that want to travel light, but BYO sketchbooks if you can!
