Can’t be more stoked for @joeljttaylor truly just an incredible athlete, re inventing what P1 Para Surfing can look like… training hard and working hard to push the limits of this sport.. I’m not only grateful to be his chosen coach to be in his corner throughout his competitive career , but also get to watch the push forward he is making on his free surfing sessions , chasing heavy waves and show casing proper professionalism in everything he does.. watching him win his 3rd Australian Para surfing Title in Byron Bay yesterday and knowing we are now on the program to focus in on a 3rd ISA World Para Surfing Title… I’m just super proud of this guy… even if I still get nervous when heats are on, its not actually about his performance , it’s more just wanting him to get the waves to showcase the level he really is at!! Bring on 2026 behind the scenes sessions and looking forward to sharing more about Joel’s journey this year!

2025…. Well i got to Marry the woman of my dreams @jacquimareebailey then got a little nug out Kirra during TC Alfred…had the funnest impromptu trip to Vanuatu… got to coach alongside Wado and MR at a hell camp…. Bought a boat… rounded up the year just like it started with a huge highlight but this time a career moment… got to help my mate @joeljttaylor win his second ISA Para World Surfing Title and a Gold medal…even snuck a Team Copper medal for myself… bonus Joel won Surfing Australia’s Male Para Surfer of the Year….finished with my beautiful wife at the awards after party… and in my arms tonight.. our first kiss was NYE many years ago… forever grateful 💜
Lots of highs and lows in-between and great memories, but I’m so ready to kick into 26’ lots of love and best wishes to all of my friends near and far!!!

After a few fun days of prep and the opening ceremony with @theirukandjis today, my 2025 @isasurfing World Para Surfing Championship campaign starts tomorrow!
The forecast looks pretty good, should be waves all week! Tune in to isasurf.org at 7:25am AEDT (12:25pm local time) to watch my Round One heat live.
For those following along at home, my division - and most of the others - have two non elimination rounds so every competitor gets to surf at least twice. These qualifying rounds are a leaderboard format with our two best wave scores from Round One and/or Round Two counted for a total out of 20.
Then, the top eight surfers on the leaderboard progress to the Semi Finals. And first and second from each semi go through to the Final to do battle for the gold medal.

I recently got to try out a Lab Rat 2 from @stcy.co I had it made 1 inch bigger than my normal short board and some more foam so I could ride it in more punchy solid conditions and feel like I had good paddle volume but also good rail length to hold off the bottom on more powerful waves…
I’m super happy with the feel of this board, wanted to share this clip, I actually had the chance to go to Vanuatu for a week after the first session and I rode it there in all conditions and felt so good… Lee is definately a master craftsmen and can’t wait to share a review of some of the new fun models currently being shaped.. 🤙🏼
