2026 marks the 30th anniversary of Andy Middlehurst winning the 1996 National Saloon Car Championship for the second time, in the Middlehurst Motorsport run ‘Group N’ R32 GT-R.
30 years on… Father and Son, Andy and Chris, will be competing together as a two driver pairing in the @motorracinglegends Historic Touring Car Challenge championship; in our newly acquired ‘AXIA’ livery Group A R32 GT-R built by @ricwoodmotorsport

We are very pleased to announce that whilst Chris was in Japan a few weeks ago, we have purchased the famous @topsecretjapan Nissan R35 GT-R ‘1100R’ race car from Smoky Nagata 😎
This 1100PS (at the wheels) monster has been continuously developed by Top Secret since it was first built for the 2014 World Time Attack Challenge… 🇯🇵🏁
It has also featured at the Nismo Festival as well as the Tokyo Auto Salon, multiple times... 😮💨
Now the question is… should we enter a round of the @timeattack_uk once it arrives to the UK?! ⏱️🏁

P1 overall in Race 2 from the back of the grid!! 🏆☔️
After a disappointing DNF from Pole Position in Race 1 on Saturday due to a puncture, the Middlehurst team reset overnight to focus on Race 2, on Sunday 💪🏼
As we lined up in the assembly area on slick tyres, the heavens opened which meant it was all hands on deck to swap over to wets as the rain poured down… 🌧️
Starting from the back of the grid, Chris used his 15 successive years of car racing experience; to storm from last to first in only 2 laps, having only drove the car ONCE in qualifying in the dry! 🔥
Chris stretched out a huge lead over the car in P2 and subsequently handed over to his father Andy in the mandatory pit stop, who blasted the R32 GT-R home to victory… 🏆
A huge thank you to the Middlehurst Road Race & Classic race team @lukerob94 , @gazmo_1 and @ceryshxghes , as well as @ricwoodmotorsport for their support all weekend long 🙏🏼

Race 1 unfortunately didn’t go to plan… Some some small contact at turn 1 between Andy and the Zexel GT-R driven by Simmo Arthur, unfortunately resulted in a puncture, damage to the wheel and therefore a DNF… 😔
After starting from Pole Position this was a very disappointing result for the team, but we have Race 2 to focus on today and we are starting from the back, so tune in to watch our progress! 💪🏼

Chris will be starting the race and Andy will take over after the pitstop 😎

P1 in qualifying for Andy & Chris! 🏁
After some issues with a front hub in testing, the Father & Son duo went out into qualifying with very limited running, with Chris having never driven the car before whatsoever!
Andy straight away set down a marker time good enough for pole position and pitted to allow Chris to familiarise himself with the car for the rest of the session.
Chris’ first flying lap was 0.3 secs off Andy’s current pole time and he continued to improve with more laps under his belt, to end the session 1.7 secs faster than the car in P2, on lap 8.
This weekend is the first outing for the Middlehurst Road Race & Classic run Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R, with the first race today at 16:00, which is live on the @motorsport1924 YouTube channel 🏁
