I don’t know if I’ll ever truly be able to process this moment, or if I really want to get to the other side of processing. The closest I’ve come is just reflecting on this insane journey with the people who made it all possible, and my friends and family. I don’t say it lightly when I say this was a dream team in an incredibly challenging time. From the moment @jeffullrich put this project on my radar and @Travon let me get involved it’s been a thing I’ve looked forward to every day. Really with very aspect of it, whether it was introducing the project to others to build the army behind the film through favors or screenings to waking up at 5a to see if we had made the shortlist. A good team has complimentary elements and that was Team TDS in spades. Whether it was @nicholas_maye , the glue, @theworldatcraig , the prophet, @lawrencebender , the kind Godfather, @vanlathan , the heart, @zariazariazaria , the elegance you aspire to, @martindesmondroe , the consummate ball of yarn of a human being, @ijessewilliams , the leader and guiding light in dark moments, @nick_veneroso , the do-er, @cuettwiller our pragmatist, or @samir4gtg , the ultimate connector. Every single member came with a belief that not only making this movie was possible, but that the change this movie speaks to was possible as well. While we still have so far to go, the vision of truth Travon brought to the world has already sparked such a meaningful conversation. Proven necessary on a daily basis. The moments of life mimicking art, and vice versa were heartbreaking during this to say the least. It must end. The fact that @tinaex and @stephanopoulos , @nowthisnews , @easymoneysniper , @diddy , @mac10 , @mr_memphisstate , Jeff Ullrich, @darlenejacobs , Janine Nabers, @shira_piv , Adam McKay, Josh and Emily Church @damonlindelof , and so many others put their weight behind that vision is the difference in this existing or not. The difference between us ending this cycle and not exists with our audience now. There were so many people behind this movement of a film that I’ll never be able to thank fully. To all of my friends and family, you making me think I can makes moments like this possible. Thank you!

I debated writing/posting anything, less the feeling of being performative, but I also think the value of social media is largely connection, and I know I’m not alone in dealing with the mixed bag of emotions that come with having a mother with Alzheimer’s on Mothers Day. I feel so blessed to be able to hug my mom still. She’s here, and she’s still such a wonderful energy and person. In the same breath, I’d be remiss not to say there aren’t parts of me that mourn the conversations we used to have. My mom is the reason I believe good things are possible and that seeing the best in people is the way to live. I aspire to have the kindness and patience that she had/has and the amount of times she told me to believe in myself in moments of doubt I have come to appreciate the more I live without it. Mom, your presence is missed every day by me and all that were lucky to be in your orbit. Excited to see you and get a hug today! Happy Mothers Day! I love you.

Happy 14th dude! You’re old enough to tell me to bite my tongue this year on the sappy post, so I’ll keep it short. Proud of the man you’re becoming. Keep chasing your dreams. You make every room better, and everyone around you better. Thanks for being you.

Proud of my younger brother @smeyeronfire for completing his Masters in social work. Busted his butt and took time away from home over the last couple summers, all in the name of helping others. Excited to watch what comes next!!!

belated to the gram, but Happy 11th bday to my co-pilot Knox, a jack of all trades, bouncing from one craft to the next chasing a passion for soccer while never wavering on who he is or what he likes. Knox, for those that don’t know him, is about as tough of a shell as you can crack, but should you be so lucky, he’s the most unique kid you’ll ever meet and the kindest friend to have while still offering (even dear old Dad) more honesty that most would dream. I feel so lucky to be his Dad and can’t wait to see what hill this kid conquers next!

You don’t get to choose your dad, but if I could, I’d choose you a thousand times ‘Bubba.’ You led with morality and love and not alpha over everyone and I feel forever blessed to view the world through the lens you colored it with. Thanks for being there for me, for my boys and our family, and for Mom. Your selflessness is inspiring to watch and we are all so lucky to have you. Happy Fathers Day!!

I love you Mom. It’s hard watching you get old, and yeah..I wouldn’t wish this disease on my worst enemy, but I know you’re still in there somewhere and that fleeting glimmer in your eye accompanied by my favorite smile in the world is enough to turn bad days, good and hard times manageable. We all were so lucky to have the love and warmth you’ve provided your whole life. Happy Mothers Day!!
