A song from Gaza. A vote beyond the Eurovision contest. Not to win, but for justice and freedom, and an end to Israel’s ongoing genocide, illegal occupation, siege, and destruction of Palestinian cultural heritage.
Vote by sharing this song, as an act of solidarity with Palestine. Culture and identity are fundamental human rights.

“Tucked away towards the back of the room is a set of photos of River Phoenix — Stipe’s actor friend who died outside the Viper Room nightclub in Hollywood in 1993 and who Stipe calls “a profound loss”. Then there are the close-up images of hands; he shows me his father’s, plus those belonging to Kurt Cobain. He took pics of both men on the same 36 roll in the early 1990s, with his father dying in 2015 and Cobain in 1994. “Rule one? Show up,” Stipe says now about how to make the most of people you love. “That’s the most important thing, and we are only human, we can only stretch ourselves so far, but it is important to at least make the effort. I scroll through my phone from time to time and land on, say, the Fs and think, ‘OK, who have I not reached out to in the past six months?’ I pick a name, call and say, ‘Hey, how are you doing? How is your mum? When is that f***ing album coming out?’’’
As the frontman of one of the world’s most influential bands, REM, Michael Stipe sold 85 million records. In today’s issue of Style, he talks to Jonathan Dean about his long-awaited solo album, love of fashion and life in New York. Read the interview in full at the link in bio now.

Such a lovely time with @michaelstipe ! Such a sweet genius! I realize I look like his stuntman. My brilliant vestal twin, @eugenemirman , is creeping behind us. Michael killed it, joining @michaelshannon and @jasonnarducy and friends on stage @brooklynsteel ! What fun! Only 7 more cities! I’ll be sad when this tour is over. Pic @christybush_public
