Hello! It’s a new year, so I figured it’s the perfect time to freshen up my profile pic (thanks to 📷@themaddyullman 💛) and reintroduce myself to new peeps who are here!
👋 Hi, I’m Michaela owner of Michaela Made, a small AAPI woman owned business in Dallas, Texas and also my personal art page where I share my art journey as a full-time artist! Here are a few fun facts:

1. 🎨 I’m obsessed with all things risograph and just got my own machine last year! I really admire Natalie Andrewson’s riso work!
2. 🛒 I’ve been running my small pop-up shop full-time for 2 years! My background is in graphic design!
3. ☕ I’ve been really into matcha and genmatcha tea keeps me going during the day.
4. 🌟 My goal this year is to launch more stationery items to get closer to my dream of opening my own stationery shop one day.
5. 🐈🐈⬛ I have 2 sweet cats and love meeting and connecting with fellow cat-lovers!

Not everyone who comes by my booth know they are talking to the artist or sometimes I’ve stepped away for an “introvert break,” 🫣 so I love that these communicate who we are and also are cute and fun for my brand!

Michaela Made is an AAPI, woman-owned illustration & paper goods pop-up shop based in Dallas, TX. Owned by Michaela Yarbrough, she is a digital illustrator with a background in graphic design. She creates bright & whimsical paper goods and stickers inspired by food, asian culture, and cats to re-connect with her Chinese-American heritage. She self-publishes hand-printed risograph prints and cards from her home studio.

These Family Mart prints were made for my Patreon, and are now available to the public. For anyone who doesn't follow my newsletter, I have officially closed my Patreon in 2026 so I can better focus on other projects. Doing my Patreon was a fun experiment, but it became a lot to deliver a monthly print + digital rewards while also preparing for markets especially around the holidays last year. I'll be finishing out this series with Lawson's convenience store as my final set of rewards for previous Patreon members, but that will be available to the public when I mail it out to my Patrons. These stamp zodiac prints + stickers will be available at my last 2 Lunar New Year events in Austin this weekend! They will also be available on my website! Orders over $25 will receive a free red envelope in person and online!
📖 Backstory 📚
I wanted to create a piece that utilizes 2 colors on the riso, as opposed to the full color series I had been doing for the LNY calendars. I wanted to try a cute reinterpretation of the animals. The ¢ numbers reflect order the animal is in the zodiac. For my eagle eyed friends, I do have a typo I caught after printing this design, the Tiger should be #3 and the Dragon should be #5, so know if you see the typo, it's one of the first prints we made of this! Any new print runs we do will have the numbers fixed 😅 Joys of being human. Another easter egg is that the number 4 is unlucky in Chinese culture, so the Rabbit is 31¢ to still add up to 4 without showcasing the number 4! I loved looking at new and vintage postage stamp designs for this print and I hope you enjoy this piece as a print or sticker sheet!
