Last weekend, we had such fun time at @esterbrook_official Journaling Workshop at @ankarakalembulusmasi !
Using the journaling kit and the alphabet stamp by Esterbrook with the edition of some travel focused vintage ephemera, we all dove into our memories of past journeys.
We started by exploring what we have and what kinda of things we can include in our notebooks, which led us to personalise our journals in the first place. Some of us were there to learn some tricks in journaling for their kids but ended up decorating the materials despite having promised not to touch anything in the bag 😄 That’s the magic of journaling: you can’t keep your hands off of it 😉 And some even came to have fun even though it meant getting the set for the second time!
At the end of the day, it was an hour full of sharing memories, and playing with papers and stickers (sometimes even taking some from the other people’s envelopes 🤭).
We all look forward to the next opportunity to come together and journal!

When I made this scrapbooking journal page, I ended up using a stamp featuring Babe Didrikson Zaharias and it immediately caught my attention. I realized how many vintage stamps in my collection feature male politicians, presidents, or historical figures, and how rarely I come across women.

Therefore, I ended up diving into learning more about Babe Zaharias. She was one of the most versatile athletes of the twentieth century, winning two gold medals and one silver at the 1932 Summer Olympics before later becoming one of the defining figures in professional golf and helping establish the Ladies Professional Golf Association. Her accomplishments become even more remarkable when considered within the limited opportunities and recognition available to women athletes during that period.

I also tried to match the rest of the journaling page with other women figures’ stamps, but as you can probably imagine from what I mentioned above, that turned out to be surprisingly difficult. 😞

This week in Connecticut, the weather really changed all of a sudden. Just last week it was coats and gloves, and now we are finally in our first t-shirt and shorts of the season.
