Still not too late to visit the Vincent Price Arts Museum and its current exhibit honoring the Brockmam Gallery, which was central to the development of the Black Arts Movement in the wake of the Watts Rebellion in 1965. Thank you @peterwoodsla and all who helped to organize and was a part of the poetry workshop and reading that happened there.
Join us on Saturday December 6 @ 2:00 PM for a special afternoon focused on poetry and themes of “Act On It! Artists, Community and the Brockman Gallery in Los Angeles.” Inspired by the creative legacy of The Brockman Gallery and Leimert Park Village, this event features an ekphrastic poetry workshop with Rebecca Gonzales followed by live poetry readings in the gallery space. Admission is free and open to all!

Editors @besskepp_ and @ceasarkavelar talked about their legacies in the Pomona poetry community as the hosts of A Mic and Dim Lights and Obsidian Tongues respectively and proudly introduced the poets from the collection who came to share, including: @donatomartinez1 , @anonymuus.one , @prettypetitepoems , @handsomeherbivore , @egyptianprincess8 , @swodeck and @rise_arts_collective .
