Banksyâs audacious and effective statue still stands on Londonâs Waterloo Place - though I hear only until tomorrow. If true, how long before we see it at auction?âŚ

So while we are not on our long-awaited mini-break, we were so lucky to see the forthcoming ZurbarĂĄn exhibition @nationalgallery in London which is an absolute winner. Not least his deeply realistic still lifes, imbued with as much drama and intensity as the towering crucifixions, friars, Marys and saints (also amazing).
Second painting is by his more exuberant son, Juan de ZurbarĂĄn, who died aged only 29.
Must see - opens 2 May.
I looked into the dynamics and commercial set up of contemporary art in stately homes as @whitecube plans a show of 22 artists in the hidden gem of @claydonhousent in Buckinghamshire. Roll on summer!

I'm a fan of tennis, art and the suffragette movement so happy to shout out for this open call for an exhibition @wimbledonmuseum during the tournament this summer.
The show is organised by @youngmastersartprize and will explore the connection between the womenâs suffrage movement and Wimbledon. Artists are encouraged to propose work that engage with the suffrage (and Wimbledon) palette of purple, white and green, the history of Wimbledon, or wider narratives surrounding womenâs visibility and empowerment.
Entries through @curatorspace by 4 May, link in bio to more detailed info đđ¤đ
