Kensington Olympia may not have the cachet or convenience (yet) of Somerset House but the move there by @photolondonfair is a big improvement - room for the photos to breathe and made me realise how much variety and excellence there can be in one medium. Here’s to the “Grand Palais West Kensington”. Some highlights: - shared booth of @wanda_martin with her father Gábor Martin at the Association of Hungarian Photographers - @niccolomontesi @bendanapinelartcontemporain - @thomas.duffield @guesteditions - @philipsteeleart @starch.sg - @cyrusartist at a booth he organised of seven artists in Polaroid (J17 upstairs) - detail of extraordinary @alfredojaar compilation of the 2,128 covers of Life magazine (of which five represent the continent of Africa, and mostly animals) @goodman_gallery @prixpictet - @lesliehdowek - part of the Positions section organised by @mariasukkar - @steffireimers @contour.gallery - in the Discovery section - @bedekincsohilda @tobegallery_official - @rollie6x6 @galeriebenetaschen

Banksy’s audacious and effective statue still stands on London’s Waterloo Place - though I hear only until tomorrow. If true, how long before we see it at auction?…

When life throws its 🍋🍋🍋, you have to make 🍸🍸🍸. So while we are not on our long-awaited mini-break, we were so lucky to see the forthcoming Zurbarán exhibition @nationalgallery in London which is an absolute winner. Not least his deeply realistic still lifes, imbued with as much drama and intensity as the towering crucifixions, friars, Marys and saints (also amazing). Second painting is by his more exuberant son, Juan de Zurbarán, who died aged only 29. Must see - opens 2 May.

I looked into the dynamics and commercial set up of contemporary art in stately homes as @whitecube plans a show of 22 artists in the hidden gem of @claydonhousent in Buckinghamshire. Roll on summer! In today’s @financialtimes and link in bio 🏰🎨☀️

I'm a fan of tennis, art and the suffragette movement so happy to shout out for this open call for an exhibition @wimbledonmuseum during the tournament this summer. The show is organised by @youngmastersartprize and will explore the connection between the women’s suffrage movement and Wimbledon. Artists are encouraged to propose work that engage with the suffrage (and Wimbledon) palette of purple, white and green, the history of Wimbledon, or wider narratives surrounding women’s visibility and empowerment. Entries through @curatorspace by 4 May, link in bio to more detailed info 💚🤍💜
