We’re so excited to announce the 2025-26 edition of Access Opera: Guild Open Rehearsals for Students. The fall lineup includes nine operas, ranging from cutting-edge to classic. Through Access Opera, local students and educators are able to attend final dress rehearsals live at the Metropolitan Opera House.

This Saturday, May 2, students and teachers across the country will attend screenings of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin as part of HD Live in Schools.
This opera was the first of three that the composer adapted from works by Alexander Pushkin, Russia’s national poet, who was also of African descent.

We’ve reached the final matchup of our March Madness bel canto bracket. In one corner, Nadine Sierra’s performance of “Ah! non credea mirarti” from Bellini’s La Sonnambula (2025). In the other, Martina Arroyo’s performance of “Una macchia è qui tuttora” from Verdi’s Macbeth (1973).

Composer @gabrielalenafrank recently spent an afternoon at Mannes School of Music in anticipation of the Met premiere of El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego.
Frank discussed her work and career with @mannescomposition students and faculty members @huang.ruo and @davidtlittle before coaching @mannesopera students on selections from the opera.

Earlier this month we visited @sarahlawrencecollege for their Music Tuesday concert series, presented in collaboration with the Met Students program.
Mezzo-soprano Lindsay Martin (@uninterruptedgirl ) and pianist Mariam Bombrun from @metoperalyadp presented a wide-ranging recital of works by Handel, Strauss, Offenbach, Rossini, Copland, and Jonathan Dove before answering student questions on all things opera.
