When you look up ‘boss’ in the dictionary you get a picture of THIS BITCH. The OG
@metaverse , founder of
@metaversemakeovers ,
@metaversefashion &
@metaversenails , back in 2012, long before a group of tired old tech bros claimed ‘meta’ for their multi-platform brand, Thea Baumann created a metaverse of her own. When they tried to shut down her handle, she went to the New York Times for an exposé interview, after which it was mysteriously reinstalled. That’s just how a
@metaverseboss rolls.
On top of all this, Thea is one of my biggest musical influences; introducing me to Italo Disco back in the mid 2000s. I often still find myself trawling
@discogs for vinyl releases of all the cool music she shows me, & certainly find myself on
@bandcamp &
@beatport buying digital copies for dancefloor fodder.
For her 2nd guest spot on
@theweeklymeltdown , she’ll be bringing us some NU NRG - house and electronic beats unearthed from the past and the fringes of tiktok.
Tune in to
@2ser107.3 Saturday 1st November at 5pm, or listen back later through the 2SER app or webpage 📻
