“Training for the ballet, Pottah?”
Our logo for Warner Bros. Games’ latest chapter in the Wizard World - Quidditch Champions. At the outset of the project we beta tested an early version of the game-needless to say I need more reps on the practice pitch. I think it’s muggle Wii tennis or Guitar Hero for me.

Customized from Monotype’s typeface Albertus, the word “Quidditch” rides atop a broom inspired by the Nimbus 2000. Leaning forward, it rushes to capture the golden snitch located just out of reach, showcasing the pivotal moment before the match officially concludes. Nestled into the crook of the broom–a signature feature found in the one gifted to Harry by Professor McGonagall is the word “Champions” in Monotype’s Flareserif. The mark is rendered in a shiny gold, the color of victory and the infamous Golden Snitch. Hints of blue bring a touch of magic to either end of the logo.

I missed the American Girl train growing up, but I can now tell you Caroline wants to be a ship captain, Blaire is self-conscious about her lactose intolerance, Chrissa’s grandmother raises mini llamas, and Sonali’s pet dog Tofu has an affinity for eating toilet paper rolls.

Working on this rebrand really was so joyous. The framework encompassed a new wordmark, bespoke typeface, expanded color palette, packaging, environmental graphics, historically inspired patterns, glyphs and more to create a distinctively ownable, playful and modern system. Every creative decision was centered on telling the “Exceptional Story of Girlhood.”
There’s no way to squeeze this whole project and all of the storytelling into 10 images. If you’re curious to see / read more, the link is in my bio.

This past weekend we headed back to the beach to see our work in action! A little bit of this and that from the past two years designing the graphics for the Film Independent Spirit Awards. Feeling all kinds of grateful I get to work alongside such creative wizards - Emily, Laura, Jase, Anastasia and Mira. The way to a man’s heart is through exemplary boiled potatoes. 🥔 “I Do” in Four Courses is a satirical and cheeky set of wedding china about marriage and the Midwest. Filled with fantasy grooms from the romance novel Pride and Prejudice, these plates parody tradition, serving up metaphors for society straight from the kitchen. When placed together, the plates spell out “I Do.” .
