Three years after the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, the exhibition resists the idea that disaster ends neatly, asking instead how “home” is made: patiently, collectively, and often in motion, long after headlines fade.
Here, Daniel Solovev’s (
@_danielsolovev_ ) diary-esque ink print works trace kebab shops in Aachen as “lighthouses” of warmth and access, mapping the in‑between of emigration and the shifting will to integrate; Anna Dedecek (
@cu1dat3 ) photo‑quilts family archives and personal ephemera into a fabric of memory where broken weaves acknowledge what doesn’t connect, holding exile, loss, and return without pretending to mend it all; and Goode’s (
@goode.colorist ) homemade optics and infrared images bend light into a poetics of recollection, where memory flickers like a frame caught between what is and what was.
Together, these works open a space where belonging is formed through care, routine, improvisation, and repair.
Together, reminding us that “becoming home” is less a destination than a practice.
