"The Boots We Wore" traveled to Charleston, SC, for the @patriot.art.foundation 's Annual Watercolor Painting Workshop hosted by @marywhyteofficialIt now travels to the @charlottemuseumofhistory for their May 14th GEM Awards Auction. My first @artfieldssc experience was a blast.I'm excited to participate in this year's "Makers & Musicians" themed three-round Portrait Contest, "where competing artists face off by painting live models, artists and performers from the local community, for one intense hour before works are judged and only the strongest advance. In the final round, one artist will emerge the winner."This contest is a "fast-paced celebration of creativity, skill, and artistic rivalry," and I'm honored to be welcomed back.#ArtfieldsSC #LakeCitySC #ArtByMelvinDNix #Artist #PortraitContest

Saturday, March 28th, was another phenomenal occasion for me! Thank you to the @cabarrusartscouncil for hosting the Art Walk on Union in Concord. I had the pleasure to shake hands, receive hugs, laughter, and fist bumps from community members who stopped by to chat and/or purchase my art. It's always a pleasure seeing familiar faces like fellow vendors @dezsterbiniart and @ida.mae and saxophonist @ltrainjazzstudios.
