🌧️ Despite appearing light and fluffy, an average #cumulus cloud actually weighs roughly 500 metric tonnes. They are able to float because the water droplets and ice crystals that make up the cloud are spread over a massive volume of air, making the cloud’s overall density lower than the dry air surrounding it. To put that weight into perspective, a single cloud can weigh as much as 67 #clowns and that’s a fact! 🤡
