🌊 “Summer Days at the Lido” is available again 🌞
I’ve just printed a small new edition of my linocut 'Summer Days at the Lido', inspired by long, warm afternoons at Jesus Green Lido in Cambridge.
It’s a multi-block linocut, printed on a hand-operated press, with layered, vivid colours that build up the glow of a golden sky and the deep blues of the water.
It fits beautifully in a 30 × 40 cm frame with a mount.
A limited edition of 50, printed slowly and carefully, each one slightly different, just as it should be. 😉

“I am Melissa, a printmaker living in Cambridge, working under the name ‘Meliprints’. I studied applied arts and visual design in France and discovered printmaking during a year spent in the U.S. Since moving to England, I have been focusing more specifically on creating original linocut prints. My work is characterised by a bold, illustrative style, using vibrant colours and strong contrasts to depict scenes of everyday life and evocative nocturnal atmospheres. People frequently feature in my compositions, with much of my inspiration drawn from familiar communities and local places. Documenting my creative process is an integral part of my practice. I regularly share behind-the-scenes insights on social media (@meliprints ). I am a member of Cambridge Open Studios and of the Cambridge Drawing Society. Each original print is unique, numbered and signed by me as part of a limited edition.”

I tried something new in the studio!
After some trial and error, I succeeded printing my linocuts on beautiful maple veneer using my oil-based inks. I love the subtle wood grain showing through each print! ✨
