🌟 Meet the Artists: Graffwerk 🌟
We’re excited to introduce Graffwerk, the Leicester street art collective behind Earth and Saturn in this year’s Planet Parade 🌍
Led by Anthony Overend and Izzy Peacock, Graffwerk are known for their bold, large-scale murals and the award-winning Bring The Paint Festival, championing public art and community creativity across the city 🎨
The planets have been co-created with artist Sam Goldstein and pupils from Ibstock School & Ash Field Academy through hands-on workshops exploring colour, space and creativity, giving young people the chance to shape their own artistic interpretation of our planet ✨
🚀 Find Earth at BBC Radio Leicester in Jubilee Square and Saturn at Curve on Rutland Street, and journey through the Solar Streets of Leicester from 30 March - 31 May.
🎨 There are only 3 weeks to go until our #PlanetParade public art trail launches in Leicester City Centre.
🌍 @graffwerk have been working with students at Ash Field Academy to create an Earth display which you'll be able to see in the windows of BBC Leicester from 30 March - 31 May.
🏫 Ash Field is a specialist school for pupils with complex medical conditions or serious physical disabilities. They had a brilliant time colouring in the templates and we can't wait to see the final designs.
📱 Once you've completed the trail on the MyLeicester app you'll be entered into a special prize draw. All completed trails will allow you to collect a free Ziggy astronaut badge at the Space Centre ticket office.
🪐 Planet Parade is supported by @bidleicester and the @dmuleicester Engagement Community Challenge Fund.
