Big shout out to producer/MC extraordinaire Erik Solo -
@steuer - and tape trade provocateur P-Minus -
@atak_pminus - for bringing us all together for this avant homage to the God, Rakim Allah. Thank you guys for working with this old lazy ruffian. This is the type of thing that keeps me in the scene. The fun! I love our track, all the homies' songs, and the incredible production on this project. I am in rarified air. Available now on cassette and Bandcamp
To say that I am honored to have been included doesn't even scratch the surface. When Paul said, hey we're doing a project inspired by Eric B & Rakim song titles...we thought it would be cool to get you and
@doseonegrams on a track together, I said sign me up!
As you may or may not know, I was an early prospect for Anticon when they began to center their operations in Oakland. I'd travel up from San Jose and camp out at their crib for days. History was made, and friendships forged. I may not have gone on to work with the label, but I met and established relationships with a group of dudes that I love and admire, to this day. I always thought Adam was the coolest cat. Intelligent, focused, and insanely talented. Much much love to my brother doseone. Thank you for this. It was a long time coming and hopefully just the first of many.
For all of my disappearing acts through the years, being able to drop in an out for these types of occasions is what I do this for. The kinship and comoradarie of the outliers and underdogs. Much love to all my comrades featured on this project and involved behind the scenes.
To the Microphone F(r)iends!
Classic material 🙏🏽💪🏽❤️

@crushrus circa 1998, may or may not have been taken during the alleged sessions for Stuffed Animals. No one is certain whether or not that project was ever actually recorded 😹😉
