The @lordstanleyhotel is a venue designed for everyone - home to Brisbane’s best beer garden, sports bar, restaurant, gaming room, function spaces, kids’ playground, and new rooftop deck. Dating back to 1889, the heritage-listed hotel’s original character has been carefully honoured. The restoration of original brickwork and timber details deliver a well-considered balance between preservation and renewal. When will we see you there? RIVER HOUSE by @sarahwallerarchitecture • a bold yet refined home made up of three pavilions wrapped around a private courtyard and shimmering pool. Set on a gentle slope, the structure feels almost weightless, lifted on round steel posts and anchored by a single solid wall. A black textured façade and expressive off-form concrete give the home its sculptural presence. From the street, the architecture is far more understated. White Queensland-style battens soften the form and tie the house back to its Brisbane neighbourhood, creating a quiet arrival that gradually reveals the drama within. Inside, expansive glazing pulls in natural light and opens the home to sweeping river views. Oversized sliders dissolve boundaries between the pavilions, the courtyard and the landscape, creating a calm flow of spaces that feel both private and open. River House is contemporary, contextual and confidently restrained • an elevated urban retreat shaped by light, texture and a deep connection to site.
