We took our Candelaria Design Team to walk through an incredible home we have under construction spanning 2 lots in Scottsdale’s Arcadia proper.
This home is for a large family and in addition to the main house, a second building functions for homeschooling the kids with a beautiful pool, outdoor seating spaces and and veggie gardens in between. Designed to look like a barn, inside there is an entire state of the art gymnasium, a music room fit for aspiring rockstars, an inspiring craft room and an in-home classroom with a full kitchen. Behind the Barn is a full sports court for basketball, volleyball and pickleball.

What a wonderful Mother’s Day today as we spent the whole day with both Isabel’s Mom and mine. A bit bittersweet as this was our first holiday without Isabel’s Dad 🙏🙏🙏 We miss him greatly!

So fun to have both Moms find a photo of them when young and AI them to hug then and hug now!

We are so blessed to have these two amazing ladies in our life and what a wonderful day making homemade pizzas for the family and sharing stories and lots of laughter! Love you both! Happy Mother’s Day! ❤️❤️❤️

On Thursday we said our goodbyes to Isabel’s father, Marvin Thompson.
Isabel was with him that morning. The staff gave him a morning bath and so he was all cleaned up and ready to go. He took a few deep breaths and off he went to heaven to be with God!
.
Two years ago while he was living alone on his farm in Harrisburg, NE, following the passing of his wife Barbie, he suffered a stroke and with no one there no one knew what had happened for some time! It was then that @isabeldellingercandelaria sprung into action and made arrangements upon his recovery to move him to Arizona.
.
Thanks to Greg and Max Hunt of @gmhuntbuilders they recommended a wonderful home that we could move Marvin into that was not far from us. He received amazing care from @ankaile and her team and we thank her so much for all she did to take care of Marvin while he was there. My podcast with her is in the links in my bio! I encourage you to listen to it. She is an angel on earth.

As you can see from the video Marvin probably did more during his final two years with us here in Phoenix than he did his entire life! 😂 Lots of dinners of course, baseball games, country western concerts, art fairs, visits to the Desert Botanical Garden, haircuts with Stan, lots of movie and ball game watching together, and so much more. What a blessing it was for all of us to have this time with him!

As I reflect on all of this it has heightened my awareness once again on how precious every second is of our day. Today is all we really have and that’s why we call it the Present! 🎁. Take time to be kind, to say I Love You, to give a hug, be present! This is it guys and Marvin did it in style! We miss you and I’m so thankful of all the good times we had! God Bless you and may you rest in peace! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

House number one is our Modern PV Hillside home - yes we do Modern - being built by @calviswyant with forthcoming interiors by @lissaleehickman ! How about that Kitchen ceiling! Yes I love skylights!

Then right across the street we have our 20,000 sf remodel makeover in a Traditional Style underway being built by @gmhuntbuilders with interiors by @vallonedesign ! This home is incredible and it is so fun to see all the details come to life! Great job by my PM @jacob_c_woods Rock Star!

We worked on this home for several years - it first started as a Spec home on a one acre lot and was sold at that time setting a record for Paradise Valley.
Then the home won a Gold Nugget Award for design and then the new owners purchased the lot next door where we added a 12 car garage with lifts for more, full Gym, Kid’s Playroom, Loft Skybox, full 2 Bedroom Guest House and that’s just on the main level.

In the basement there is a full Speakeasy Bar, Theater, Hair Salon, Gun Range and fu Go Cart Track!!!

Designed in a Modern Transitional Style, you never have to leave! I’ll cook a Candelaria dinner in the kitchen for the buyer!

Yesterday we took the entire @candelariadesign TEAM out to tour three of our homes currently under construction!

What a great time to be together and to actually experience what so many only get to see on paper! Walking through these spaces, experiencing the flow, scale and proportions. Seeing and studying the details at all different stages and in some cases seeing the finished product is so valuable - not to mention the time just being together as a TEAM!
.
Three totally different style homes - two in Scottsdale and one in Tempe! Thank you to our clients and builders who accommodated our tour! ❤️👍🏼

Yes, I know this house looks like it belongs in France but that’s what our client wanted and we were so happy to create this with them and make their wish come true! Definitely one of my all time favorites and soon to be featured in my second book! Stay tuned!

This weekend the Arizona Masonry Council @azmasonrycouncil honored a handful of commercial and residential projects showcasing excellence in masonry, “where design meets durability”.
Our Paradise Valley modern mountainside home, designed by Mark Candelaria @mcandelariaarch and built by Schultz Development @sdcestates was one of the winners!
