For so many families in Miami-Dade, Venezuela is still home, even from here. 🇻🇪 For years, that connection has come with distance, uncertainty, and time apart. We celebrate the return of @americanair direct flights between Miami and Caracas—a meaningful step that brings loved ones closer and makes it easier to be there for life’s most important moments. We also know not everyone will be able to make that trip. For many, cost, access to travel documents, and other challenges are still very real. But this moment, on its own, is not enough. Our hope remains clear: a free Venezuela where democracy is restored, the will of the people is respected, institutions are strengthened, and families are no longer forced to live apart. 🇻🇪

Ever wonder where your recycling actually goes? Last week, we got the answer firsthand. We toured the WM Recycling South Florida facility in Pembroke Pines — and what we saw was remarkable. This state-of-the-art facility processes materials from Miami-Dade’s curbside program using optical sorters and AI technology, handling up to 60 tons per hour. Your aluminum cans, plastic jugs, cardboard, and paper don’t end up in a landfill. They get sorted, baled, and transformed into new bottles, boxes, apparel, and more. But the process only works when we recycle right. Keep recyclables loose in your cart, and put the caps back on your bottles — it makes a bigger difference than you think. In Miami-Dade, every bin counts. ♻️

#OurCounty Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and leaders celebrated the completion of the Water and Sewer Department's new Thickening and Dewatering Facilities at the South District plant. The $300 million upgrade modernizes treatment, cuts processing time, lowers costs, and helps protect Biscayne Bay.

Behind every act of public service is someone who took the time to connect to the community around them. This week we celebrated exactly that, bringing our County engagement liaisons together as part of the 10 Days of Connection. Because when trust is strong, we can reach people where they are and solve problems together. Thank you to @radicalpartners and our entire team for making this possible. 🤝
