Bidding is open exclusively on Artsy, and will begin to close on Wednesday, April 29 at 12:00 PM ET. BOMB Magazine was launched in 1981 to publish conversations that reflected the way artists spoke about their work among themselves. The Writer’s Room serves as our cabinet of curiosities and dedication to the many queer literary giants (and artists in their own right) such as Ashbery, Ginsberg, Brainard, and O’Hara, who shaped not just the art of time, but our culture. Tom Healy writes in his essay A Wunderkammer of Weirdos, “It’s a feeling of intimacy. Making things strange to make them beautiful means messing with our expectations. Art becomes a question, a contest, a conversation, a quarrel. It also becomes a community, it becomes a passion, where everyone’s fingerprints are on everyone else.” @tphealy This exhibition is dedicated to John Mcwhinnie (1968-2012) a remarkable rare book dealer and friend. Without his passion, expertise, and impeccable eye, we would not have these extraordinary examples of contemporary literature. Our lobby is one of several rooms dedicated to Beyond the Rainbow, an expansive exhibition honoring the LGBTQ+ community and its impact at this pivotal moment in Florida. Spanning a century, the show brings together artists across generations, backgrounds, and the spectra of sexuality and gender—amplifying voices long central to culture yet too often marginalized. Nineteen artists, curators, gallerists, architects, and writers joined us as a curatorial roundtable. Together, the works reflect a range of human emotion—above all, joy—as we continue advancing equality and expression. 1.
