As a kid and throughout your entire life, you grow through insecurities, heartbreaks, finding your identity and more. Whenever the subject surrounding beauty came up, my mom
@jennifer_mchenry always said, âMaya, beauty comes from within.â A lot of our society prioritizes physical beauty and looks. But, it really comes down to the personâs soul that elevates their beauty and makes them even more stunning. Both of my parents always taught me the importance of being kind, gracious, and exuding love. Someone can tell you youâre beautiful and gorgeous everyday, which can feel great of course, but I get most excited when someone compliments me on my spirit, my empathy for others, my emotional intelligence; or admires something that I worked really hard on and and embraces the fact that I snort like a pig when Iâm laughing uncontrollably.
@daisebedolla had me laughing hysterically throughout the entire interview and I had to get it together, she has the best natural humor. These are the types of compliments that make me blush, and itâs when I feel most beautiful. Embracing yourself for who you are, your weirdness, kindness, and the good and the bad, is my favorite aspect of beauty. Iâve carried this advice with me ever since, and continue to do so everyday when I think about the complex idea and conversations that surround beauty.Â
It was always a dream of mine and on my bucket list to be in
@intothegloss and talk about all my favorite products that I have an emotional connection with that make me, me and have been a part of my life forever! A special thank you to my Queen
@elizabethgracehand for bridging the connection.Â
