Some behind the scenes for @biglilconcepts and how I unwound after filming. I think you can tell from the BTS reels just how nervous I was to be standing in front of all those cameras, but what a gift it has been! The video is the first real footprint of my music on the internet. It is so surreal, but it has also been so validating. Thank you to all who have shown their love and support. I'm just as irritatingly gleeful about it as I was about my dress-up on the day. Can you believe @renatemakesthings MADE this dress? Phenomenal ❤️🔥she's also the reason the outfit was pomegranate-themed, and the owner of most of the things I was wearing. Shoutout.

A bit about the artists:
✧ Katie Archer is a singer, guitarist and songsmith from County Cork in Ireland. A big feeler and a lover of woods and the sea, cups of tea and fires, whistling and words, Katie crafts songs to honour the labour and loveliness of life and imagine a more just future.
✧ Maya Grey is a Cape Town-based folk musician blending dreamy melodies with imaginative storytelling. Inspired by fairytales and the natural world, her music resonates themes of nostalgia, mysticism, and magic in nature.
The Alma Café curates an intentional listening environment that is conducive to being present with the performance. It is truly special both to share and to experience music in that kind of space. We look forward to sharing the evening with you!

Maya Grey arrived at the studio with her nylon-string guitar, pomegranate headpiece, and a handful of songs that took us away on an enchanted journey across forested lands, dreamscapes, and the universe itself.
Her dextrous guitar playing, wandering-but-intentional chord progressions, and finely-crafted lyrics evoke feelings of mystery, adventure, and wonder, all held together by her delicate and accomplished delivery.
Although this is the first public release of Maya’s songs, they feel long-lived and deeply established, and this performance is sure to mark just the beginning of her illustrious career sharing songs from places beyond our imagination.
The full episode of Maya’s performance is now available on YouTube 🎶

A small snippet of a performance with @heretohear.sound and @saaa__ge 🌷
A week ago @saaa__ge and I performed together as part of a wonderful venture by their project @heretohear.sound . It was indeed a realm of dreams that we created, with a transfixing performance by the phenomenal @odwabongoofficial and a very thoughtful audience in an intimate listening space. Thank you all for a soft and sacred evening. It was very raw and rather beautiful.

Thank you everybody for making me feel like a shining star ⭐
What a gift to have played my music as part of @heat_arts_festival 2025. Much gratitude and appreciation to all who pulled things together @quietlifeco
This was my favourite show to date... And I've now decided that playing dress-up is a necessary part of drawing a good performance from me. Pop other outfit themes/ideas in the comments and me and @renatemakesthings will keep collaborating on bringing more whimsy into the world.

Hello, I know it has been a while.
Some of you may know that I've been working on an album for what feels like forever. It has been a much bigger journey than I anticipated. I thought recording was just pressing 'record' and then singing a song you've sung a million times. I have had little patience and much frustration in realising that at my level of professionalism (low) and perfectionism (high), it isn't that.
It's one of the most illuminating, introspective, isolating experiences I've ever had and I could go on and on about all the challenges and lessons so far. But I just wanted to say that I'm going into the studio again on Friday. And I'm afraid, but also, for the first time in a long time, excited.
I make no promises as to outcomes, but I think it will be fun to try again.
