INNSESSION - CORN - ROUND #02
Curating another InnSession at the Inn is ear to street CORN and Northfield boss Mackenzie who continues to contribute to the cities more eclectic and varied dance music scene made up of back of the room heads down club music.
This time round he invites Turkish born Indian, Scottish, Dutchman based in Bristol since ‘96, October is a true veteran of sound and culture in Bristol. With influences coming from across the globe they obviously run much deeper than contemporary electronic music scenes, as well evidenced in Sacred Pools, his monthly slot on NTS Radio where you’re just as likely to hear death metal, doo-wop or pop as you are club music.
As well, Mackenzie brings local peers Jay Galligan and Moli to the Inn.

Surgeon & DJ Pete (aka Substance) All Night Long @ Strange Brew, Bristol on April 3rd.
CORN & Strange Brew present two legends of techno for a rare all night long set. Surgeon & DJ Pete are known for their deeep musical knowledge and uncompromising approach behind the decks and in the studio for over 30 years. Berlin meets Birmingham in Bristol, this is definitely not one to miss. If you were at Sandwell District (all night long) a year prior, you know the score.
Surgeon - DYNAMIC TENSION / COUNTERBALANCE / DOWNWARDS / TRESOR
Surgeon has been at the forefront of UK techno since 1992, emerging from Birmingham his work is inseparable from the city’s industrial spirit and deep-rooted underground culture. Surgeon helped pioneer Birmingham’s legendary House of God party and held a pivotal 3 year residency at Tresor (Berlin) in the early 90s. The recording of Surgeon & DJ Pete’s 5 hour set in Tresor’s Globus room for the 30 Years of Surgeon event is well worth a listen.
With decades of influence on the global underground and international respect, Surgeon represents a commitment to authenticity & a sound that continues to sharpen rather than soften.
DJ Pete (aka Substance) - CHAIN REACTION / OSTGUT TON / SCION VERSIONS
DJ Pete, also known as Substance, has been a constant driving force in shaping electronic music for over 30 years. Emerging as a DJ in Berlin in the late 1980s, he became part of the formative underground movement that helped define the city’s sound. His early production work with Vainqueur on Chain Reaction defined dub-techno in its early stages. DJ Pete has a deep and longstanding connection with Berghain since the iconic techno institution’s inception, as a resident DJ & with contributions to the Ostgut Ton, the influential in-house label.
With decades of experience & deeply respected by peers and audiences, he brings a sense of integrity to his sets, embodying a dedication to techno as an evolving culture rather than a passing trend.

Now running his very own Northfield Records, he’s also a part of the Timedance fam and our shared love for Techno in all of its roughness and fluidity makes us incredibly stoked to hear him close out proceedings for the late finish.

Northfield & Superficial Candid present Black Merlin - Friday 31st October
Black Merlin makes his long-awaited return to Strange Brew this Halloween.
A touchstone of underground dance music, Black Merlin’s sound has been at the forefront of rhythmic and hypnotic techno for over a decade. With releases that plot a map across a selection of the most seminal labels of recent times, it is no surprise why this artist is so revered.
Rejecting the well known paths of many of his peers, George has placed his time with the Kosua people of Papua New Guinea in recent years. His now rare club appearances are a treat for those in the know. Among them, his last incantation at Brew in Feb 22, which still reverberates to this day.
