(21/2026) Vladislav Delay Quintet - vd5 (We Jazz) 👇 Finski mag eksperimentalne elektronike, znan kao Vladislav Delay (Sasu Ripatti) predstavlja slusaocima muziku svog kvinteta koji "ozvucava" njegove zamisli koristeci standardne akusticne instrumente (trombon, saksofoni, bas gitara, klavir...), uz neizostavne elektronske alatke pride. Rezultat je neka vrsta progresivnog mutantskog dzeza za naredni vek koji izmice uzim kategorizacijama. Kada sam pre nesto manje od dva meseca ovim recima najavio izlazak "vd5", dostupne za preslusavanje su bile dve od deset numera, sto je bilo sasvim dovoljno za gornju tvrdnju i nestrpljivo iscekivanje pocetka maja koji nam je doneo album u punoj duzini. Za analizu kompletnog materijala ispunjenog mnogobrojnim detaljima potrebno je vise prostora. S obzirom da ga ovde nema u tolikoj meri, dodacu samo da je Vladislav Delay Quintet uspeo da veze u neraskidiv cvor nekada nespojivu cvrstu "uzad" dzeza i ekperimentalne elektronike, ali i da ih, povrh toga, dodatno "uplete", sto kreativnost, fleksibilnost, slobodu i preuzimanje rizika podize na visi nivo nego sto smo to navikli kod drugih "hibridnih" sastava. Mislim da je sasvim dovoljno razloga da ovaj uzbudljivi album zasluzi najvecu mogucu preporuku za mnogo puta ponovljeno slusanje, uz zelju da VD Quintet nekada ugostimo i u Srbiji. Echoing the forward-looking vd musical vision always ahead of the curve, the new album does not fit into any specific category, forging a path of its own across the 10 tracks. Recorded at Candybomber Studio in Berlin, the album brings vd together with Maria Bertel, Lucio Capece, Derek Shirley and Max Loderbauer. This is shape-shifting, elastic music that exists left of any given timeline. Based in Hailuoto in Northern Finland, Vladislav Delay has never fit into any preset mould as an artist. His prolific, at times mythical output has elevated him to a veritable legend status in all music cycles appreciating a unique artistic voice. Be it his forward-reaching recent releases as Vladislav Delay on his own Rajaton imprint, his Ripatti alias, or playing metallic percussion with the Moritz Von Oswald Trio, Vladislav Delay always has A SOUND. And that sound is ever-evolving, as his new jazz album shows. What "jazz" is this? There are certainly liquid elements there in the mix, not unlike the ones heard on previous vd productions. Then again, this is acoustic quintet music by and large, but not any specific kind we have ever heard before. Isn't that the whole point of "jazz"? Whatever came before is a springboard, not a limitation.
