why does watching this feel so good?
SATISFACTIONACTION starts with the internet’s obsession with “oddly satisfying” content — and tries to translate and exaggerate these sensations into an immersive, communal music theatre experience.
it asks what this urge really says about us. is it innocent neurological bliss, or are we just escaping a world on fire? 🔥
The contemporary music of composer Max Andrzejewski is informed by the minimal and jazz genres and the ASMR movement. As a percussionist with improvised-music leanings, he is also one of the eight members of the SATISFACTIONACTION ensemble, which is made up of members of Solistensemble Kaleidoskop and other soloists with close artistic links to Andrzejewski. This collaboration with the singers of the choirs Vocantare / Vox Bona and choreographer Sylvana Seddig is embedded within the space and video installation of Lukas Zerbst. The result is a composition of spatially and temporally shifting, overlapping layers that merge into constellations — one that mirrors, renders and exaggerates the experiential bases of our need for fulfilment.
SATISFACTIONACTION by Max Andrzejewski - premiered in 2025. A co-production by Deutsche Oper Berlin, Beethovenfest Bonn and Max Andrzejewski - supported by Hauptstadtkulturfonds.
