Crazy being the youngest to ever teach at a WENZDAYS. Shoutout to @ian_eastwood for creating a space where the dance community can come together. Over the last year @ian_eastwood has become a big mentor in my dance life and I appreciate everything he has done for me and our generation.

💡factz about this WENZDAY :
1. Matty completed his fourth WENZDAY as a choreographer and earned his orange 🟧 towel
2. the 3 scheduled choreographers finished earlier than expected, so Toni agreed to jump in last minute and teach a piece
3. we were supposed to teach at another studio but they had to cancel so Sasha and Kozmic stepped up to lend us their studio for a second week in a row

💡 fun factz about this WENZDAY :
1. the co-chapter leader of WENZDAYS Chicago @nish_mudigonda showed up and went crazyyyyy!!
2. our regular videographer Lucas has a lacrosse 🥍 game and couldn’t mate it, so his aunt Z took over and did a great job behind the lens!
3. Rachel went second and put together steps to the early part of the song. her piece she came up with was sooooo great 🔥 and the flow 🌊 was insane. she said that she may have to add on and teach it one day in a regular class!!
4. Xavier went last and he took his time finding his groove within the music and it paid off with a fire section!! luckily @sashaherrera10 agreed to stay open ❤️ for an extra half hour so we could run the loop effect and chill a little after 🫶🏻
5. we help set a record by contributing (34 dancers) to the largest attended WENZDAYS globally - 175 dancers (might be more) in total worldwide

💡 fun factz about this WENZDAY :
1. this was the first WENZDAYS ever in NJ!!!
2. all three choreographers were born, live, and teach in NEW JERSEY and/or NEW YORK
3. we chose the song (VIVRANT THING by Q-Tip) FIVE minutes before we started
4. the bpm on the song was ONLY 99 which was fine on this occasion since we had plenty of time with three choreographers
5. the hive canceled their senior team rehearsal so they could host
6. i was the only person in the room that had ever attended a WENZDAYS (and now we can add 39 more dancers to the fam!!). i taught first and i really wanted to bring the same vibes i felt when i choreographed at Ian’s garage in LA. i tried to make my piece hype with smooth transitions so all the dancers could really have fun and get their first taste of the loop effect.
7. the textures by JERZEY club legend Rob Bynes had the room oohing and ahhing throughout his session. he also had us dance in a circle at the end and i was having flashbacks to one of Ian’s @monstersdance classes.
8. QUEENS, NY icon Kai Lin nailed the balance of hip hop and litefeet. even though he went last, EVERYONE stayed to witness his genius and they were rewarded with a piece that embodied the essence of the track.
