“FOOD 2050” PREMIERE | L.A. | JAN 14 2026 Five years ago, a small but mighty team and I set off an a journey around the globe to film 10 visionaries across 5 continents who dreamed of a new relationship with their food, and a brighter future for our planet. These heroes each had inspiring stories of how to lead their local communities along a new path to improve the health of humans and the environment. It was an honor to be welcomed into their homes and to translate their visions to the screen. When we returned with these stories, @violadavis came aboard and graced the project with her generous heart and powerful, hope-filled voice. This week we premiered the feature film in Los Angeles at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Museum to a sold-out audience. Miracles occurred every step of the way to make this happen. Eternally grateful to the crew, the visionaries, @mediaredhq and @rockefellerfdn for the opportunity to direct this life-changing project, and to see the subjects, stories and filmmakers honored this week in such a special way. The film was made to tie a heartstring between the book and readers, showing how a single, magical story can have the power to help a family connect & cope through difficult times. Uplifting stories helped heal my heart when I lost my dad as a kid- we hope this can do the same for others. In honor of all the dads no longer with us this Father’s Day, today I’m releasing my new book “The Mood Swing”: a whimsical picture book about navigating the ups and downs of loss. 💜🚀✨ I’ve been working on this project for years now as a secret side quest and am so excited to finally share it!! (link in bio) I wrote“The Mood Swing” under the pen name B.R. Duray as an homage to my dad (his pen name he used when he wrote about his war exploits). It’s a love letter for kids who lose a loved one and struggle to regain their balance in life. Whether a loved one has passed, is overseas deployed in the armed forces, or has simply been gone for a while, “The Mood Swing” is a story that I hope can bring hope and comfort to families in difficult times, and magic and wonder to people of all ages.
