It’s been a week since the premiere of Personlige Sange Forfattes and we’re still dreaming ourselves back to the wonderful party we had 🎈
Thank you to @institutforx and to everyone who came to the concerts, you made both evenings so special and so festive and so different from one another!
We are incredibly grateful to @autdk for choosing to support and produce this project. It has been a real privilege to work with you!
A massive thanks to @seb_brix and @henriksaederup who made up our quartet for this show - Henrik is an actual real life light wizard and Sebastian can make you forget all promises of food that were ever made just by virtue of his performative presence and dulcet tones.

AUT presents: Personlige Sange Forfattes - en selskabskoncert af Cake Of Day
11th and 12th November at @institutforx
At the performance concert “Personlige Sange forfattes” the experimental woodwind duo Cake Of Day invites the audience to join them at an absurd dinner party that explores Danish traditions of celebration.
Personlige Sange Forfattes is a declaration of love to the tradition of “lejlighedssange” (songs written for an occasion), a wonderful and often sublimely awkward Danish tradition.
There will be wine, sodas and cake served during the concert.
Personlige Sange Forfattes is produced by @cakeofday in collaboration with Aarhus Unge Tonekunstnere with support from Statens Kunstfond and Aarhus Kommunes Musikpulje
Venue: Institut for (X), Exners Plads 9, 8000 Aarhus Centrum
Doors open: 19:00
Concert begins: 20:00

‘Jeppe Aakjær’ is the second single from our debut EP ‘live i Esbjerg’. Jeppe Aakjær is also a Danish writer from the 1800s and pure ydil and rolling fields
Everything was recorded on a lovely evening at a concert in Huset Esbjerg last spring and is a mix of improvised compositions and improvisations initiated by the audience.
‘Live i Esbjerg’ will be released September 7th 💫

Before Christmas I made new thumb tone holes for two beautiful Moeck recorders. Usually they’re made from bone or imitation bone, but I made these out of grenadilla. These are pictures I took while still being very much in process and in my head about it.
I’m happy with how they turned out ❤️
