Repost • @educatingmummy The first few weeks/months can be super tough. A few things that I found difficult to do was just the basic things, going to the loo without Tate crying, showering without Tate needing a feed, and eating a meal. I soon learnt that Tate loved to be connected to me at all times, more so than to Miles. I took it as a compliment and initially I lapped it all up, really taking on the ā€˜these moments won’t last forever’ approach. But after a while, it became tough to keep this approach going as the house chores piled up which made my mind feel chaotic. Miles was working on a project full time, the kids were off for the summer and I couldn’t understand how it was all manageable and I questioned if it would be like this forever. But of course it didn’t last forever, and now I feel a little guilty that I hoped that it wouldn’t. Tate has become so much more content within himself, he will lay on his mat eating his hands and cooing, I can pee in peace (most of the time), I can shower without a knock on the door that he needs feed and I can even make my lunch to eat aside him. His siblings bring him joy and Miles is the expert at cuddling him to sleep now. This is just a little note to all parents who are finding it a little hard right now. It will get easier ā¤ļø

Repost @_livingforjasmine For some of us we’re full time SAHM’s, some of us are working from home + taking care of the children and some of us are going to work and coming home to our children! Either way we are doing what’s needed for our children…and it’s ALL A LOT! Sometimes it’s hard but we show up anyway! Cheers to this non stop life! Encourage a momma today! šŸ«¶šŸ½šŸ¤—

Repost • @gianna.bachowski For 9 months we admire our growing bellies, glowing and embracing the blissful content that comes with every kick and movement our baby makes only to give birth and then try to ā€œget our bodies backā€. Don’t do that! Don’t focus on it, enjoy what is and what was. Give yourself grace, praise your body and love what it did for you. The truth is your body will never be the same again…from the moment you give birth, your heart beats on the outside of your body. A piece of you lives outside of you. YOU are beautiful. Stretch marks, leaky nips, loose hips and all ā¤ļø

Double tap if you love this before and after Repost @itsmillennial_mum I just love the beauty of motherhood! It starts from peeing on the stick, storing it for as long you remember, going through all the struggle of sustaining during pregnancy yet embracing it with so much grace, then welcoming completely new person without any experience and working hard to make sure you give right things to them. Motherhood is toughest yet rewarding job one gets to do. I just love seeing myself grown during these past 21months, 12 months of baby 9 months of pregnancy.. I have grown so much .. if people from my college days will meet me know they won’t even recognize me.. šŸ˜…šŸ˜… I was a slob.. unorganized, goofy and give damn about anything! Now.. look at me šŸ˜„šŸ˜„ . . . . #pregnant #pregnancyannouncement #pregnantbelly #preggers #pregnancy #preggo #1yearold #1yearago #babymama #babymamadrama #boymomlife #momsofinstagram #preggolife

How long did you push mama? Anyone need to push this long? @thelabormama Did you know, mama, that your pushing stage (this is the 2nd stage of labor) can last for 3 or 4 hours (and sometimes even longer) - and that this is okay on the road to birth? Pregnant, postpartum, or thinking about baby? Join meĀ @thelabormama for daily education + support! The technical definitions of ā€œprolongedā€ pushing are: > 3 hours for first time mamas WITH an epidural > 2 hours for first time mamas without an epidural > 2 hours for repeat mamas WITH an epidural > 1 hour for repeat mamas without an epidural Feels like forever, right? But there is actually evidence and research that suggests guidelines that allow for MORE time to push - up to another hour or so. And this knowledge is really important as we continue to try and decrease the cesarean rate! ā€œIf the maternal and fetal conditions permit…longer durations may be appropriate on an individualized basis (e.g., with the use of epidural analgesia or with fetal malposition) as long as progress is being documented.ā€ doi:Ā 10.1016/j.ajog.2014.01.026 It can be work to get your baby to fit through your pelvis. Nothing is wrong- it’s just getting a puzzle piece to fit - and that can take some maneuvering sometimes. Maybe they’re a little crooked. Maybe they’re OP. There’s a lot of little things that can make this take time - but bits of progress are made over time with each contraction and each pushing effort - and we have to give you that time! •••••

WOMEN ARE AMAZING!šŸ’ƒšŸ»Repost @trackclubbabe Wild that we have so many different pressures put on us to make us feel like we aren’t enough, we aren’t doing amazing, we need to strive for more. You are amazing.ā¤ļø If I wasn’t already so in awe of the strength of women, becoming a mother has deepened my understanding of the strength women have to carry. I’m not sure what’s weak about feeding and caretaking my daughter 24/7 & also showing up in the business marketplace. āŒDon’t get distracted by silly things that don’t matter. Give yourself some credit. You are strong, resilient, and a fighter. The world is better for you in it! I’ve been learning so much in my postpartum journey. What we are taught to resent — like our bellies being softer, I see as amazing— my body did what it need to to safely care for my baby, and right now, I am making a choice to be present with my daughter over obsessing over ā€œtrying to get body backā€ — this is just an example of the selfless choices women make daily but don’t give themselves any credit for.ā¤ļø šŸ—£What other things do women do that show our STRENGTH?! šŸŽ„this video was done the day before I gave birth! 🤠PS looking to elevate your run training?!
