(3/3) these images were taken off 108 st and Roosevelt Avenue. I often find myself reminiscing about my childhood while walking down 108th to get home. The memories of what used to once existed. I didn’t always appreciate Corona. I used to want to live somewhere “nicer”. I don’t blame myself I didn’t know better, and like many low income kids, I imagined a life different than mine. Now I hold on to those memories of those places that no longer exist. & I hold on closer to the things that still exist, as they remind me that we’re still here. In those moments I’m called to use any opportunity to capture things before they continue changing as well as the pieces I b making lol
Thank u for everyone involved in this project. Xoxo

(1/3) la pueblayorkina, through my designs and these series of images I seek to capture a fragment of the essence of growing up in dual worlds. From my working class latine neighborhood in Corona, Queens to navigating vast social scenes as a brown Mexican girl growing up in nyc. I’m inspired by my childhood, being a retired Mexican emo baddie, these pieces are my attempt to cross my worlds.
