my month in makeup 💜
highlights:
- my first time on a film set! thank you
@trishapickelhaupt @claireorrange for trusting me, and special shoutout to the rest of the styling team
@nychairstylist_gabby @madissunnyy in doing such an incredible job making every look come together :p
- got to assist
@makeupbydisco &
@sandynichamakeup , two incredible artists i’ve quietly admired for quite some time now. seeing these two paint in real time reminded me why i chose this path three years ago.
i typically keep it concise on here but it’s so many new faces this past year. i want to start opening up more about myself, and my journey as a makeup artist:
my year started with losing a primary source of income abruptly. while knowing the risks of contract work, i was nonetheless unprepared for such uncertainty.
i had become so tunnel visioned on specific goals, leaving me devastated when they didn’t come to fruition. i eventually had no choice but to turn my fear into motivation. after all, i quit my full time retail job last summer SO that id have more time doing what i love most: painting faces, working on set. the beauty of freelancing is the endless possibilities — they often come when you least expect, but you have to be willing to put your ego aside, reach out even when it’s daunting, and most importantly, HOLD YOURSELF ACCOUNTABLE!!! with freedom comes great responsibility.
im far from having it all figured out. but i know im on the right path. march was a month of hard work and hope. thank you to everyone who has supported me, cheered me on, or trusted me me to be a part of their teams
