Last week, we had our last FOTP of the semester with a celebration of International Worker’s Day accompanied with a silkscreening workshop of art and activism by @mprintpower . Followed with a lovely pre-celebration with @mariachi_nyu and some delicious cake, our patio came alive once again with the joy of our community!🎂🎶
We also took a moment to celebrate our director, Jordana, for her leadership and care in the past years, as she prepares to move on to a new chapter. 🎉 Thank you to everyone who shared these moments of gratitude, appreciation and joy!

✊🎉We are celebrating Día de los Trabajadores (Workers’ Day) at our last FOTP of the semester!
Next Friday, we’re marking International Workers’ Day to celebrating all the labor and vital contributions of workers in our communities.
To start the afternoon, @mariachi_nyu will join us for a pre-workshop celebration (2-3PM) ahead to Cinco de Mayo, including cake and a live performance!🎶🎂
Then, from 3–5 PM, join Mobile Print Power— a collective that combines printmaking with political education—for a hands-on silk-screening workshop: bring your own shirts, tote bags, or paper and leave with something uniquely yours.
We can’t wait to celebrate together on the wrap-up of our semester! ✨

This event will consist of a know-your-rights training where folx will have the ability to gain information and resources on how to keep you and your loved ones safe if ever encountering la migra 🐷
We’ll then lead a screenprinting workshop facilitated with Mujeres en Movimiento! The workshop will consist of a conversation to generate ideas which we’ll then draw out and with the help of MPP, be able to screenprint some designs!
⭐️byo-tote/shirt if you’d want to get your design printed on that instead of paper!
& we’ll be joined by none other than @plantxchange , @longistancereads + more mutual aids who will be providing 🦎 FREE PLANTS + BOOKS + more !!!! *

Welcome Mobile Print Power (@mprintpower ), our Community Partner who teaches screen printing and shares print-resources with New Yorkers to empower them artistically and together make books, prints, and public sculptures of their work.
Mobile Print Power is engaging communities across New York City through public printmaking workshops that center stories of place and identity. Through collective artmaking, zines, and silkscreen prints, Mobile Print Power helps participants build a living archive of cultural memory rooted in shared experiences. As part of their Enduring Culture grantee work, they will be able to expand their reach by growing their organizational capacity.
The Community Partnership program is a part of MAS’ Enduring Culture Initiative, a multi-year effort that aims to expand New York City’s approach to preservation; to protect and celebrate more of the places, cultural activities, and histories that make our neighborhoods and communities unique.
