We’re super proud of the project and making a pilot certainly felt like the right creative progression for the podcast. I had the pleasure of piecing together the @beastfromthe_middleeast ‘s whole story (so far!) for the ABC’s Background Briefing. He’s a British-Australia-Pal.est.ian doctor that went to G@za to help, and came back with a bold promise: to bring a children’s hospital inside the Strip. Recently he found out he may not have a chance to return to G@za for another medical mission. But he’s continued to campaign to make the hospital happen - speaking to politicians, rallying crowds and fronting the media. Behind his advocacy, theres a story of personal grief, burnout, and the impossible pressure of trying to make good on his promise. Huge thanks to Dr. Mo, his wife Nour, and the team at Australian Story, who’ve also told his story this week. Our new @abctv doco is live! It’s on South Africa’s copper theft crime wave which is tearing the countries infrastructure apart. We went out with law enforcement, private security and vigilante groups to see how organised crime syndicates are cashing in on the illegal trade, fuelled in some part by the world’s green energy transition. I won a gold Telly Award for a documentary I made for @abctv Foreign Correspondent!!! Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford the postage to Australia, so here’s some pics of my brother accepting it on my behalf in Austin, Texas. You’ll notice he appears to be tensing in photo two but don’t let that distract you from the shiny statue! Thanks to the @tellyawards , and also to @newyorkfestivals where we won Bronze, and @oneworldm who shortlisted the doco.

My new doco for the ABC’s Foreign Correspondent is now online!!! It’s called 'Reporting for Duty' and it's about the brave women who are reporting on the war from the frontline. Over several months our shooter @frontliner filmed with them as they worked tirelessly to make sure we ‘don’t forget about Ukraine.’ Link in bio for the full doco.
