Happy to share ‘Murewa’, a short film close to my heart about my first childhood friend Murry. Using 5 years of home video footage and pictures I took of us when we were younger.
It was an emotional process editing this, seeing hours and hours of skate clips I filmed from the age of 14 onwards in a completely different light, looking at moments that shaped us and confronting the things that were missed - finding so many pictures and videos that I completely forgot about, including a collage that Murry made me during our time at school together.
Although I’m looking forward to no longer hearing the sound of my own voice on repeat, I’m excited for this to slowly go out into the world and thank you to @sxsw for holding the world premiere!
