‘Enjoy the Silence’ by Depeche Mode delves into the profound satisfaction and intimacy found in quiet moments, where the absence of words speaks louder and feels less intrusive. I interpret this song through sign-language for the choreography from the perspective of being deaf, finding a deep appreciation for the silence that surrounds me when I turn off or remove my hearing aid. At times, the overwhelming noise makes it necessary to disconnect, bringing a sense of calm and peace into my life. The music carries a beautiful melody, which the dancers embodied through their movements, turning their bodies into musical instruments. This created a visually accessible way for me to experience and understand the musical notes with greater clarity.
