One of the most blissful experiences of my life! My heart is as full as ever. Thank you @greenskybluegrass for having us there with you for a sold out Red Rocks show! It was the giant bow on 12 straight nights on tour w/ @circlesaroundthesunofficial . I’m so grateful! Thank you to my bandmates, our crew, all the venues and their staff, and everyone who came out to shows or supports us from afar. It’s an honor and privilege to do this, especially right now, and it’s multiple dreams come true for me. The journey here has been stranger than fiction, and challenging in ways I couldn’t imagine. I’m grateful for all of it. Last night was a major inflection point. Playing the legendary hometown venue I saw my first big show at when I was 7, coming home from a tour (that actually happened), on a beautiful night surrounded by people I Love. What a dream!!! Thank You!!

@toddsniderlive was a force of nature. He was a pure shot of storytelling. Watching him perform was engrossing and mind altering, I could feel my brain expanding into the spaces he illuminated. I could never understand how he was able to remember it all, truly one of the great storytellers of our time. RIP

Today I’m especially remembering @nealcasal as we share new music from the band he started 10 years ago for Justin Kreutzmann and Peter Shapiro’s GD50 setbreak music. Everyone misses Neal. I think he’d be stoked to see his friends still making this music together 10 years on. Words are hard with thoughts and feelings like these, but I am grateful we’re still doing it. Shoutout to my bandmates, recording this album felt a lot like the first one. Thank you to every person who has helped along the way. Thank you for listening. We’re pleased to announce our upcoming album, “Interludes For The Dead: Volume 2,” ten years from “GD 50: Fare Thee Well” and the conception of CATS with Neal.
Recorded over four days with nothing written or rehearsed beforehand, all of the music was created on the spot and tracked immediately with little to no overdubs and every bit of the energy and the spirit of the first release.
First two tracks are out everywhere today. In Dan’s words, “Charleston Choogle’ was the first notes we played in the session, and it just instantly felt like we were picking up where we left off. Of course we’re missing Neal, but somehow the spirit felt like it was there. We continued that challenge with ‘Golden Boot,’ which I think sounds like a classic CATS jam.
We decided to release those two songs first because they magically felt like they were coming from the same batch of inspiration, as if we just picked up where we left off ten years ago.”
