Cześć i czołem! Wróciliśmy do tradycyjnego walczenia z potworowymi problemami. Trochę jakby ta seria, ta historia, to uniwersum, ta dylogia dorastała. ˗ˏˋ★ 𝐓ɦ𝖾 𝐒υ𐓣 α𐓣ᑯ 𝗍ɦ𝖾 𝐒𝗍α𝗋 ᑲ𝗒 𝐑𝗂𝖼𝗄 𝐑𝗂ⱺ𝗋ᑯα𐓣 α𐓣ᑯ @markdoesstuff ★ˎˊ˗ I actually read this book a long time ago and had even made a post for it, but later I ended up deleting that post because I didn't like how it looked...😭 But well, as I love this book and Solangelo so much I just had to make a post for them again!  ── .✦ 📖 Blurb  As the son of Hades, Nico di Angelo has been through so much, from the premature deaths of his mother and sister, to being outed against his will, to losing his friend Jason during the trials of Apollo. But there is a ray of sunshine in his life–literally: his boyfriend, Will Solace, the son of Apollo. Together the two demigods can overcome any obstacle or foe. At least, that’s been the case so far... Now Nico is being plagued by a voice calling out to him from Tartarus, the lowest part of the Underworld. He thinks he knows who it is: a reformed Titan named Bob whom Percy and Annabeth had to leave behind when they escaped Hades’s realm. Nico’s dreams and Rachel Dare’s latest prophecy leave little doubt in Nico’s mind that Bob is in some kind of trouble. Nico has to go on this quest, whether Mr. D and Chiron like it or not. And of course Will insists on coming with. But can a being made of light survive in the darkest part of the world? and what does the prophecy mean that Nico will have to “leave something of equal value behind?” 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘆 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗮. #thesunandthestar #solangelo #nicodiangelo #willsolace #bookstagram

I don’t usually travel far into the Riordanverse beyond Percy and Annabeth’s adventures, but I really enjoyed the Sun and the Star (the first Nico DiAngelo adventure) a few summers ago, so I thought I’d jump into this one, the Court of the Dead, written by Rick Riordan and Mark Oshiro, while waiting for the Son of Neptune audiobook to be ready on Libby (I’m currently rereading the Heroes of Olympus series). Jumping back into a Nico and Will story was so fun. They are such charming leads, and I love how much more we get from Nico’s story since meeting him all those years ago, especially when Will Solace gets to share the stage. This book was also fun because we see more of Camp Half-Blood and a lot of Camp Jupiter, where the bulk of the story takes place, which also means more Hazel and Frank - yay! Getting to read about these characters, ones I loved when I was twelve, fourteen, eighteen, and now twenty, feels like reuniting with old friends. The adventure in this story is unique - Nico and Will travel to Camp Jupiter to help Hazel with integrating former monsters (turned “mythics”) into camp (pieces of which reminded me of Percy bringing Tyson to camp way back when), and furthering the mythology beyond what we’ve seen so far in these books, with new minor gods and monsters at play. There is an especially intriguing sequence at the end with the Mist, something unlike we’ve ever seen before. Like the first Nico DiAngelo adventure, Riordan and Oshiro spin a tale with a strong emotional backbone. While the central focus is Nico and Will, we also get a fair amount of insight on Hazel, which I enjoyed a lot, especially her and Nico’s relationship with Hades/Pluto. This story reminded me of the short stories we get in Camp Half-Blood Confidential and Camp Jupiter Classified - stories within the camps we know and love without a Titan or Gaea-related war going on. I highly recommend grabbing this one off the shelves if you are craving a fun, easy, heartfelt read that will make you want to put down your phone and travel back to the world of Greek and Roman heroes - the ones that we can learn so much from.

🫶🏻 Vals.
