'Spirit of Shields' Location: @northshieldsfc For @elevation_walls I recently completed this gable end piece for @elevation_walls as part of @northshields800 . It has been great to be part of a really cool project for the local area and I am very thankful for the oportunity to showcase my work alongside a line up of other very talented artists. My piece focusses on celebrating the fishing heritage of North Shields, as well as the current industry, which has been a big part of the town for a long time. I wanted to capture the working conditions at sea, with the movement of the crashing waves, alongside a calm and reflective fish quay, highlighting the old style fishing boats of the past and creating a connection between the two. The main boat featured is referenced from @andrewauldbh18 's boat, BH18 Equinox. A, which works in the area and made for a nice local connection. I wanted to make it as authentic as possible in that sense and to show the contrast between the different kind of feelings and environments experienced on the water. From the crashing waves of the North Sea, to the calm and glowing reflection of the setting sun. It has been really nice to see peoples reactions as this one developed, a big thank you to everyone @northshieldsfc for everything whilst I was working and to everyone who popped down for a chat. Finished shots of my wall @spennymoormuralfestival organised by @durhamspraypaints I had so much fun on this one, a great end to a few weeks of none stop work and it has given me a much needed push to work on more self directed pieces. It's always nice to work around other creatives with a positive attitude and makes the process even more enjoyable, thanks to everyone I met and chatted to over the few days I was there and everyone who helped to make it happen. My recent piece for @creativecentralncl on Pink Lane in Newcastle city centre. This one is a bit different for me, my aim was to create something that interacts with the environment, bringing the tree into the artwork and vice versa, with the arch and frame acting as a gateway into another place. As soon as I saw the location I was intrigued about what I could do with it. The piece is located on the Chinese Christian Church, who were kind enough to get involved with the project. I worked with input from the church to develop something to improve the look of the of the space and continue the garden and nature theme from previous works on Forth Lane nearby. I'm happy with how this works with the surroundings and looking forward to the next installment. Progressl shot from my.previous post @apexprofitness of St Mary's lighthouse. One of my favourite local places. I really enjoyed this colour scheme, working the muted purples, into the pinks and warm orange glows for a nice contrast against the neutral greys. This came from searching for something to sit alongside the branding, which is quite bold, with red and anthracite, so I developed on the neutral grey against the warmth of the red to make something which sat better with the feel and aims of the mural. Which is focussed on the gym community and local connection. Sometimes its just banging colours, but more often than not the colour choice is a big part of it to create the right energy. #mural #muralartist #graffitiartist #colourpalette #stmaryslighthouse

Huge feature wall painted last year for @apexprofitness in Shiremoor. Danny at Apex was looking for something to grab some attention for the business and to highlight their strong community ethos. The wall features scenes from Newcastle to the coast, with a Tyne bridge feature leading along to St Mary's lighthouse and additional group workout details and branding. One of my favourite clients @kielderwaterside asked me to create some dark skies inspired artwork, for a viewing room at Tower Knowe vistor centre. I spent a few days transforming the entire room and entrance with some submersive space scenes, this was lots of fun! Thanks to Gary and the team for the hospitality as always. Its been a busy few weeks transforming the old G.Scott's garages on Askew road in Gateshead. We've had some delays getting things in place, but its been nice to finally bring this to life and transform the space. A lot of work has gone into this one. I spent some time a while back working with community groups, local businesses and students to develop content and ideas for the murals. Here are a few behind the scenes shots from our progress. I have been working with @sunetpn on the majority of the painting and @ida4_ncl is adding a feature piece too. We’re really excited to see the iconic arches transformed with community shaped art, bringing more vibrancy and activity to Gateshead town centre. 7 vacant railway arches, will receive a makeover from local mural and graffiti artist @mark_one87 , who has developed the designs that will reflect the area’s people, culture and character over months of working with the community. With funding from North East Mayor Kim McGuinness, the project aims to inject fresh energy into the Railway Quarter and create a destination that draws people into the town centre.
